Monsanto and the GMO problem

I have long been upset with the GMO topic because it is completely unproven to be safe.  In fact, it has more opposers than advocates (outside of the paid studies that can be directly linked back to Monsanto through funding or completly associated research).  I stumbled upon the following film on YouTube that provides some more disturbing realities of this GMO debate.  Following this film, I will provide some other videos associated with the GMO subject.  But this first one is what prompted this post because it completely appauled me moreso than I already was.

So why is this happening?  Because the drive for profits is larger than the desire to do what is right.  It's not entirely the salesman fault for using the system to provide a product, it is also the consumers for allowing this to go on by promoting the system that allows this conflict of morality through the drive for profits and greed.  It is allowed simply by complying with economy because it is what provides the method for people and corporations to pursue their greed.  This pursuit began with the desire to create profits through saving costs of labor.

Zeitgiest and The Venus Project...And my concerns

This video gives a great introduction and overview of why our Monetary System and current Representative Republic (or Democracy) is no longer sustainable.  However, this video stops before describing the solution accurately.  Please watch it though so you can learn the very true points as to why we need to redesign our world society into a more sustainable way.  And don't worry, I have the answers to problems they don't seem to like explaining on their videos.

This video was made by a Venus Project member to address the misconception that there proposal is simply communism.  While I encourage you to watch the whole thing to get further information about The Venus Project and more insight as to the means in which humanity can make change, I really want you to see the very end because he states clearly a very concerning belief system of these folks(its at the 5:18 mark) that I wish to talk about.  So enjoy, sorry he likes to use choice language at points.

So at this point I hope you will have some concerns about The Venus/Zeitgeist Projects proposal.  Incase you didn't watch the entire 2nd video here is a screenshot of the very concerning claims that they are making.

OK.  So they advocate a system of "No Government".
The obvious truth is that this is simply a shiny way of advocating Anarchy.  I like to label it as a Techno-Scientific Anarchy in order to do them more justice because they preach on the Scientific Methods and holistic value systems with an integrated approach using all technology available to reduce work and increase productivity.  That sounds nice to me, however they don't say exactly how they will organize this approach.  If there isn't any Government then how is it that they feel they are going to organize this new society in a way that shares equally with all people?  Will a machine or computer tell them how?  Who will monitor the computers?  Who will write the coding of the computers?  Who will adjust the coding when new technology and/or new demands arise?  Or more concerning, is there a secret behind this that there will be a "representative" faction of humanity in charge of overseeing this process?  Will this lead to tyranny?

You see, I actually advocate a Government.  I think it is essential for humanity to always be in full control of our destiny.  Leaving decisions to machines or representative numbers of our populations is a recipe for disaster.  Additionally, this is a major part of what makes us human!  We need to have these decisions in our lives so that we can be the pilots to our future!  Reducing us to mere consumers is not a wise place to guide ourselves.  Furthermore, the advocation of a society without Government does not equally represent the entire world today as I am not the only one with the views that government is an essential portion towards how we organize and interact with one another throughout our world.  So I completely disagree with this portion of their vision in terms that they are simply not representing everyone, equally.  The ideas I have presented as a solution are actually inclusive to any Anarchy ideologies that exist because their beliefs will not be scorned or abolished.  Instead, they will be accepted, respected, and treasured as part of humanity's diversity throughout the vast uniquenesses of the individuals.

So what I suggest, and its all documented on the other pages of this site, is an egalitarian(equality) democracy.  What I mean by that is that each person on the planet will have an equal power of vote in all major decisions to be made.  That would include everything from allocating manpower in production to just how far into space we will be exploring in any prescribed period.  Leaving that process up to a computer or representative fraction is not sharing the direction of our species equally and fairly.
I encourage you all to read up on the "Introduction" page and "Government structure facilitating sharing" page to learn more about this.

So they advocate "No People's Currency"
Awesome!  So that's the same thing I'm advocating!  Lets move on.

So they advocate "No Army"
Really?   So what happens when a region decides to rebel from this type of system and look towards conquest of all the unarmed and vulnerable regions in order to set up another system of top down hierarchy?  Don't be ignorant here.  There will always remain a small portion of people that will seek to dominate a group (how do you think we got to the point we are now!).  So the sad but true fact is that there will always be a need to defend this new way of life from those who seek to tear it down and install themselves as Lords over the many.  The greatest deterrent for this possibility is a standing Army of the people ready to defend the freedoms of all individuals within this new society.

There are also other reasons to maintain a military.  We simply don't know yet if we are the only thing capable of exploring the Universe.  There could be thousands of other beings exploring the cosmos who may find our planet quite a happy stop if we don't have the means to defend ourselves from them.  Should we project ourselves as a hostile species to any forms of life that travel here?  No, of course not.  But assuming that any life that comes here wouldn't do any harm to our kind and planet is simply an irresponsible assumption to make.

Also, a standing military can be the ready crews for any global or regional disaster to come.  Rapid response will be needed in these events, and waiting on a computer or representative system to respond to these things is not a humane way to handle ourselves.  We will need our military to serve as it does today in response to hurricanes, earthquakes, etc (except much more efficiently, and removal of economy will do that).  A more dangerous yet less occurring threat would be the handling of incoming asteroids and comets on an imminent crash course.

I speak about the military in my work.  It would be fully organized and controlled by the Citizens Oversight Branch in which each citizen on the planet is a political representative of in equal voting powers.

So they advocate "No Laws, Police, or Prison"
Hmm.  Just think about this one.  Do we really intend to believe that each person will never again commit an act against another deemed worthy of correction or removal from society (temporary or permanently)?  We are supposed to believe that by removing economy and government that all people will never again commit an action that can be deemed law-breaking?  Well I suppose you could if there were no laws, but if there are no laws than anyone can do anything they so desire against another without recourse.  Additionally, don't we want laws that govern peoples actions against our planet and ecosystems?  What about common infractions like domestic abuse, speedy, littering, assault, rape, etc?  I really don't want to get too much into this one because I know that people can think this one out themselves and see that laws are needed not for the good folks but for those who become or are already prone to violations.  And just like a military, consequences are usually enough to prevent the crimes and when they are not, the sentences will serve as justice.  So then you do in fact need Police and Prisons, just not nearly as many because the amount of crimes will virtually disappear.  This is because most of the crimes committed are due to economy.

So this too is a valid reason for humanity to continue on with a Government.  I advocate a Government that holds all people responsible for voting in and out such things as Law with powers established equally.

So they advocate "No President"
I actually maintain the title of president in my model of government (I could rename the title to Regional Diplomat or Rodeo Clown for that matter, if it made them happy).  However, my model has a president as a regional representative in the deliberation processes of our world government.  See, my model removes the president from the top hierarchy of power to an equal status along with a legislative branch and citizen oversight branch.  Between the three branches of government, they are all equal in powers of deliberation.  The hitch and sink of this new structure though, that ensures that the entire citizen base is in charge and control of humanities destiny, is that ALL final votes will be the responsibility of the Citizen Oversight Branch.  This ensures that government will not be susceptible to erosion in power and processes.  Again, please read through the Introduction and Government pages to learn more.

Before any Anarchists respond to this post let me clear the air.  Your views are your own.  They obviously are not mine though.  What the Zeitgeist/Venus Project certainly hold a strong representation of IS anarchy and you may feel as though I took a shot at your belief system in this post.  That isn't exactly true and I'll explain.  What I am taking a shot at is the promotion of Anarchy as the solution to the worlds problems.  Our planet is as diverse in belief systems as hairs on our head. There isn't a single reason I can be allowed to believe in that would let me follow a system that advocates the adherance to "one" belief system, discarding all others.  A system such as is in question here that is built on such principles is certainly not representative of all the diverse belief systems on this planet.  I however do advocate a system that does represent all beliefs, including Anarchy.  Explore my work to prove it to yourselves.

So here you have my response to The Zeitgeist/Venus Project vision in terms of my concerns.  I hope you will take the time to contemplate these things too.  I know that there will be hard believers in their system bellowing claims about how science answers many of the concerns that I have raised.  Frankly I will not be thrilled to hear about them because the bottom line for me, and I'm confident its for many others, is that the PEOPLE need to be in control of our species.  This is what makes us human.  I simply believe that we need a form of government that flips the power structure on its head, leaving EVERYONE EQUALLY in control of our destiny.  The diversity among our peoples are a treasure to behold in the processes to come.  The vast ideas, visions and opinions are what will create immeasurable greatness for generations to come.   There isn't a scientific process that can represent this treasure of diversity humanity can employ in a system of government that I am proposing.  Humanity is simply not something to be predicted in a model, chart, graph, or program when it comes to the creativity and exploratory spirit among us all.  We just need a system that sets this power free!

I would like to end by congratulating and deeply thanking the efforts of all members within The Venus Project/Zeitgeist movements.  Your hard work and vision is inspiring a great awakening on our planet in regards to the needs to change and the education to possible solutions available to us.  I do not wish to discredit your efforts one bit.  This topic is here to highlight concerns that I have, and can only assume others will also share in terms of the box being promoted for people to conform to.  A social change like this cannot come from the authority of one group alone, it must be a shared vision that represents the entire human race.  One day I am confident that mankind will find a state of existance that closely mimics social anarchy, and I hope that day is sooner than it is later.  However, I believe that such a time cannot come from  an expedient transition we are facing today.  It may take a generation or several to wear off the social viruses that our current authoritarian societal structures have embedded on the minds of our people.  Give those folks that are not prepared for this type of existence time to catch up, and it will happen.  That I am a believer in, and confident of.

I would love your feedback.
